Two Fat Ladies at The Buttery

652 Argyle St, Glasgow G3 8UF, UK – 0141 221 8188

Upscale Scottish, and good stuff at that. So yeah, it's upscale Scottish dining. Which separates itself from the more hipster-y fare available further west on Argyle mainly by the white-linen on the tables, the muted/wood decor, and the silver-ware. Mind you, the food is nothing to laugh at - it is all excellently done, carefully plated, and the flavors are designed to complement or contrast appropriately. Pretty much everything is good, if not *very* good - and there is plenty of wine available to go with this. About my only issue with the place is that it really isn't my cup of tea - I prefer a more casual place, but hey, that's just me.

We have been here four times in five days. The for was superb, and the vegetarian menu comes highly recommended. The decor and ambiance was very charming, with starched napkins and cute bone China teacups, and old style music. Some of our favorites were the smoked salmon appetizer, the vegetarian haggis, and their coffee is excellent, served with cute little profiteroles. The staff is very attentive. Wish we could eat here all the time.

Wagamama

97-103 W George St, Glasgow G2 1PB, UK – 0141 229 1468

Excellent staff. My girlfriend and I both have bad allergies, and we were dealt with amazingly by all staff and reassured before and after ordering. Great selection, fast cooking time, and lovely atmosphere. Little bit on the expensive side, but would most definitely go there again. Not a big fan of the communal eating tables when I'm paying a decent amount of money, but to each his own. Highly recommended!

Great for asian noodle and curry dishes. Vegan menu, fast, friendly service, outstanding value! Been coming to the chain for over 10 years and have never had a bad meal.

KoolBa

109 Candleriggs, Glasgow G1 1NP, UK – 0141 552 2777

As an Indian restaurant this is fantastic. The food is great, the service is great, the experience is great. As a location this can't be bettered. In the heart of the Merchant City this is the perfect stopover for a food break between venues, and for an evening meal I would happily spend a few hours here. Highly recommended.

First visit and couldn't fault it! Food amazing. Service very good in pleasant surroundings. Had the pre theatre menu but will be back to sample more

Dakhin - South Indian Kitchen

89 Candleriggs, Glasgow G1 1NP, UK – 0141 553 2585

I was in Dakhin several times and each time the overall experience was great! it's definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Glasgow. Southern-style food is different from what you are likely to get used to. Food is tasty, vegetarian options are available too. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent food, make sure to be hungry! Will definitely go back.

Ashoka South Side

268 Clarkston Rd, Glasgow G44 3EA, UK – 0141 637 0711

Meal deal for one - Chicken Pakora was fantastic. South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken was great as always, really nice flavours. Rice was fine and Garlic Nan was brilliant as well. Can't beat the flavours of this curry.

Had a nice lamb dhansak and excellent nan bread. Smaller portions and some fresh herbs would up my rating. Starters tasty but all a bit 'deep fried'. The Tuesday and Wednesday 30 percent offer makes it great value on those days. Service good.

Best Reviewed Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

Qua Italian Restaurant

68 Ingram St, Glasgow G1 1EX, UK – 0141 552 6233

Qua is an amazing restaurant that delivers the flavours of Italy. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful - not pushy at all. The food is great with generous portions. Qua is a great family friendly restaurant which ticks all the boxes. The manager Luca was great fun. Totally recommended.

Great place! Went here for my graduation meal yesterday with all my family and the food was delicious. The staff were very accommodating and friendly especially around my baby nephews. We couldn’t stop praising their customer service! Fantastic restraurant!

Jamie's Italian Glasgow

7 George Square, Glasgow G2 1DY, UK – 0141 404 2690

Had an absolutely amazing meal here. The staff were so attentive and helpful. Sophia who served us was beyond brilliant and went the extra mile to make us feel well looked after. She was always friendly and waiting for the table which sometimes took a long time. She was also engaged in conversation with us which was nice and had a great personality. The food was outstanding and couldn't fault it. Stand out dish was the lobster ravioli. We didn't think it was too expensive and thought it on par in terms of price with many other Italian places in Glasgow.

Pleasant, spacious venue. Attentive staff. Enjoyed a nice G&T. Enjoyed my late lunch, the starter, Seafood in Batter, was almost enough for me. And, reasonably priced. Could have gone to the Wetherspoons, on the other side of George Square , but, I loathe eating in such a noisy atmosphere. Will definitely be going back to Jamie's to try more of the menu. Though I have mentioned the staff, already, I was impressed.

Zizzi

Princes Square, 48 Buchanan St, Glasgow G1 3JN, UK – 0141 248 5026

Attentive staff, who smile and great food. It's always feels relaxed, you never feel rushed. I prefer eating on the balcony as it gives you the opportunity to people watch as you eat. We had booked and we were seated immediately, it was our third time here and all the visits were very enjoyable. Great for couples and groups. We will go back!

Nice food. Although I’d personally skip the risotto 😏. Nice staff and food is goooood. Nice surroundings. Also baby changing room is probably the best I’ve ever been in. A walk upstairs is required to access Male or Female toilets, probably why some customers use disabled toilet 🤯

Boudoir Wine Bar

Excellent location. Excellent staff (especially operations manager) 10/10 would defo visit again.

Great atmosphere fantastic staff and entertainment what more could you ask for

All Bar One Glasgow

56-72 St Vincent St, Glasgow G2 5TS, UK – 0141 229 6060

I his is a great place to get drinks that is not your typical pub. Certainly attracts a younger crowd but it' maintains a high level of class. I would definitely go here for cocktails over most of the other places in city centre.

Looking for a quick bite in Glasgow, and happened upon this place. Not bad, and I'd come again.

Tiki Bar & Kitsch Inn

214 Bath St, Glasgow G2 4HW, UK – 0141 332 1341

Friendly knowledgeable staff! Good beer selection even though cocktails are the focus. The cocktail were perfect, best I've had in Glasgow. They've got boat loads of rums to choose from including a house blend. Prices were good especially with all the specialty ingredients and glassware. The vibe is exactly what you want in a tiki bar, this is definitely a required stop when you're in town!

Excellent food, excellent cocktails, excellent service. We've been here several times and as far as we're concerned, it's the only place to go in Glasgow for Thai food. The menu is limited because of the quality of food that they make but there's something for everyone and you're never left hungry. My recommendations - the chicken satay starter and Thai red curry main. And the cocktail menu. All of it.

Glasgow Chinese Restaurants

Amber Regent

50 W Regent St, Glasgow G2 2RA, UK – 0141 331 1655

I have been frequenting this place with family, friends and colleagues from work for over 20 years, and I can safely say this restaurant is without doubt one of the best in Glasgow. The food is excellent, the choice of food is excellent, prices are reasonable, the new decor is great and the staff have always been attentive, professional and easy to speak with. My favourites (Chicken in creamy sauce and beef and black bean) with noodles, all washed down with a few glasses of house wine or a few chilled beers. Don't take my word for it, go book a table and see for yourself.

Good food even thou it's a bit pricey

Yen Oriental Restaurant

28 Tunnel St, Glasgow G3 8HL, UK – 0141 847 0110

Yum Yum Yum. Very good food from the guys at Yen Oriental restaurant. The sushi was fresh and all the food was cooked well. There was a bit of delay ordering but the food came out quick as. Tasty!

Very friendly service. Not rushed but relaxed. Food excellent.

Lychee Oriental Chinese Restaurant

59 Mitchell St, Glasgow G1 3LN, UK – 0141 248 2240

A very good dining experience whilst visiting Glasgow. Very pleasant interior and very attentive staff. Excellent menu choices and prompt service, good beer and wine selection with good recommendations from the waiter. A really enjoyable experience. Would recommend it.

Far as I'm concerned it's the best Asian restaurant in Glasgow. Menu has Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Korean etc so a good choice. I recommend the spicy pork mince starter that comes with lettuce leaves (like little tacos) so good. Nice staff and always good service however, when the owner Jimmy is about you always get an 11/10 service. He loves chatting to customers and makes the experience even better

Glasgow Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

The 78

10-14 Kelvinhaugh St, Glasgow G3 8NU, UK – 0141 576 5018

Imagine an alternative universe in which your local pub didn't force the "homely" atomosphere and rely on the death of animals for the dishes you love. This is a doorway into that reality. With a quiet, dog-welcoming, friendly atmosphere, the great animal-free bar selection and large menu speak for themselves. Despite a steady flow of customers, food arrived quickly looking and smelling appetizing; and the taste did not disappoint. Pub's often settle for the "home cooked" experience but our curry was executed with the finesse of a top restaurant. I recommend this place for anyone seeking a traditional pub with a difference.

Great food! You wouldnt be able to tell everything was vegan. A bit more on the pricey side in my opinion but it is not too bad (between 7 and 10 pounds for a meal). Student discount on tuesdays though! The place has a great atmosphere; a mix of restaurant and bar. Sometimes there even is live music. Overall, a good place for a meal and a chat or just a quick drink and some snacks.

Martha's

142A St Vincent St, Glasgow G2 5LQ, UK – 0141 248 9771

Absolutely excellent food and the price is great for what you get. Try this place people as you will not be disappointed!!!

Great place for a healthy lunch, the joy of finding sandwich-free fast lunch options! My mum and I visited in January on a Friday. I don't know if it was very busy because it was a) January and people were making good on their NY healthy eating resolutions, b) it was a Friday and more people eat out then, or c) it's just very popular. Anyway, as you will have worked out, the place was extremely busy when we visited. We nabbed seats, but only just. Mum and I had the pre-made salads with one of the protein options (pulled pork). The meat was delicious, and the salads really fresh. You can also choose from a variety of dressings. The portion sizes are generous too. I'll be back (as long as it's on a Monday to Friday lunchtime as the place is closed at the weekend). Please leave a like.

Sarti (Bath St)

121 Bath St, Glasgow G2 2SZ, UK – 0141 204 0440

Beautiful authentic Italian restaurant in Glasgow city centre. Recently visited for drinks and also had a light bite and was so impressed - nice area if you are only looking for drinks. Great overall feel and first class service! Wine was lovely and the coffee delish. Looking forward to next visit! 🥂☕👏😊

Great authentic Italian food! Reasonable prices and you aren't rushed out after you're done eating. The staff were happy to answer any questions about the menu and to provide recommendations if you have a hard time choosing from their extensive menu. Pizza, salads, and pastas including beef, pork, chicken, and seafood options.

The Horseshoe Bar

17-19 Drury St, Glasgow G2 5AE, UK – 0141 248 6368

Best pub in Glasgow, also had their three course meal for£4.95. don't know how they do it. I'd love the staff from my local to work in here for a day to learn how it's done properly. Attentive, hard working professionals. If there is anything to fault this pub I've never found it. High standards deserve high praise. Well done Horseshoe

Fantastic, old school, proper pub. Great pints and a super filling, good value, tasty lunch. You'll be ready for an afternoon nap after a lunchtime visit 😁

Slouch Bar Kitchen & Venue

203-205 Bath Street (200Yds from The Kings Theatre, Glasgow G2 4HZ, UK – 0141 221 5518

My go to bar on a night out. Always features on a pub crawl with my friends. Filled with great food and great drink. All well priced and the cocktails are fantastic. £50 will get you food and drink for most of the night. It gets very busy at the weekend so be prepared to wait to get served. Always has good tunes on and has live music on thursdays. They also have great seating and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Favoured town haunt. The Cowboy burger is great, plenty of beer and whisky choice and good rock music. Football is shown with no volume, which I actually like as I prefer the music.

Malones Irish Bar

57-59 Sauchiehall Ln, Glasgow G2 4AB, UK – 0141 332 8899

Great bar. Welcome from helpful staff. Good beer etc. Great roof bar area. Food looked superb but didn't eat today. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE REVIEW THAT SAID THIS PLACE IS RACIST. an Asian door man. A gorgeous black girl behind the bar. Lots of different faces in the crowd. Bullsh*t if thus place is racist. It's as great as the diversity of Glasgow.

Watched the Rosenbourg v Celtic game there. The pub should consider shifting some tables for big sporting events and get more folk in. It gets really tight. No food was being served so no real need for the tables to be out. All good apart from that.
